Lava International Ltd (stylized as LΛVΛ) is an Indian multinational technology company that manufactures smartphones, laptops, computer hardware, and consumer electronics. It was founded in 2009 by Hari Om Rai, Sunil Bhalla, Shailendra Nath Rai, and Vishal Sehgal[1] as an offshoot of a telecommunication venture. It is headquartered in Noida,[4] and has operations in a number of countries.[5]

Lava is headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. The company maintains 6 offices and 3 manufacturing and service facilities throughout India.

Lava has a single-layer distribution model, wherein more than 900 distributors across India are directly managed and controlled by the company.[6] Lava is also present in several countries like Thailand, Sri Lanka, Middle East, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Nepal.[7]

Research and development

For designing and developing its products, Lava has set up research and development facilities in India and abroad, with particular investment in India after the Government's Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.[8]

The company held a market share of 13.4% in the feature phone segment in India in the financial year 2021.[9]

  • Agni 5G series was officially released on November 9, 2021. The official series includes Agni 5G and Agni 2 5G.[10]
  • The Blaze series was released on November 15, 2022. The official lineup included Blaze 5G, Blaze Pro, Blaze Pro 5G, Blaze 2, Blaze 2 Pro, Blaze 2 5G, Blaze NXT, Blaze Curve 5G and Blaze X 5G.[11][12]
  • The Storm series was officially released on December 21, 2023. The official lineup includes Lava Storm 5G[13]
  • The Yuva series was officially released in 2022. The official lineup includes Yuva Pro, Yuva 2, Yuva 2 Pro, Yuva 3, Yuva 3 Pro, Yuva 5G [14]
  • The O series was officially released in 2023. The official lineup includes O1, O2. [15]
  • The Lava Pro watch Zn was officially released in 2024.The official lineup includes colours black,grey.[16]

Awards and honours

Lava received an award from the Government of Uttar Pradesh in July 2017 for hiring the most number of apprentices in the state. The company hired 710 apprentices from Uttar Pradesh in 2016 in keeping with the guidelines laid down in the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.[17]
